Great news, pie-lovers! Starting April 15th, SurveyPie no longer sets top-limits on your response allowance! This means, you can collect unlimited responses through your surveys for free! Besides, we moved some “Pro features” to Basic feature category. From now on, you can use these features for free as well! Awesome isn’t it? But that’s not all. We even doubled the bonus coins you get when verifying your email and inviting friends!

So what’s changing exactly? Check here:

Unlimited free responses per survey.

Three features including Logic Rules, Password Protection, and Redirection to custom website after completion are free to use now.

Three Pro features can be activated separately on demand using SurveyPie coins:

Data Export: 200 coins

Filter responses: 100 coins

Remove SurveyPie links & Sharing buttons: 200 coins

Verify your email address: 1000 free bonus coins.

Invite friends to SurveyPie: 100 free bonus coins/friends (up to a limit of 1000 coins)

What’s happening next?

If you’ve verified your email address before April-15-2011, we’ll add another 500 coins to your account.

If you invited friends to SurveyPie successfully before April-15-2011, we’ll add another 50 coins to your account for each friend you invited.

If you spent coins enabling Logic Rules, Password Protection and Custom Redirection before April-15-2011, we’ll send those coins you spent back to your account.

When can I get my coins you promised?

We’ll look into each user’s account status and spending log. As data is huge, it may takes up to 5 working days to finish. We’ll send emails to users who are eligible for bonus coins to inform them how many coins they can get.

More and more people start to read their emails and connect with their friends through mobile devices. In order to survey those who are always on the go and don’t use computers very often, we developed the mobile version survey system. If your survey is visited from a mobile device, a specially optimized survey page will show.

For better display result, we removed customized themes and adjusted some page elements to fit surveys into small screens. So don’t be too confused when you see a blank survey with no custom fonts or background images on your mobile.

img1: This is how your survey looks on a computer.

img2: This is how it looks on a mobile. Notice the URLs are different? Your respondents enter the “www” address the same as on a computer and our system will automatically transfer them to “mobile” address. So relax, you don’t need to send different addresses to different respondents. Just give them the same address!

As our system is web-based, internet connection on mobile devices is required and your respondents need to use a mobile browser to visit your survey. Please remember that we only optimized the survey page (the page your respondents see and submit their choices) and you are not recommended to create surveys on your mobile devices.

We are also considering developing mobile applications so you can create and manage surveys easier on the go. Had you any suggestions for us, make sure we get your brilliant ideas!

Rating scales and Ranking questions are two common question types in survey researches. In our new system, SurveyPie can now support these two question types. To add a Rating Scale question or Ranking question, you first need to add a Matrix question to your survey.

SurveyPie even allows you to easily analyze Rating scale questions by adding scores to each answer choice. In the final report, you get a Total score and an Average score. But make sure you set your points of each answer choice correctly.

Of course, if you don’t need to analyze any scores, simply set the Matrix to “Multiple choice”.

If you want your respondents to rank a series of answer choices, set the question to “Ranking”. By seleting this option, your respondents can choose only one from each column for this question.

As SurveyPie never put limits on your survey or response numbers, you can create as many surveys as you like. However, “My surveys” only displays 7 surveys per page. How to find your targeting survey easy and fast? There are 3 ways to do this.

1. Search. Type one or two keywords of your targeting survey title into the search box, you can find it right away.

2. Sort. Surveys can be sorted in 3 ways: by survey titles, by the date of survey creation and by the date of survey modification. You can choose to display surveys from A to Z or Z to A, from oldest to newest or newest to oldest. It’s totally your call.

3. Tag. You may have several surveys using the same title, but distributed via different channels. To make it easier for management, tag them differently. Click on [Modify] and enter a suitable tag for you to recognize.
